Maddie Mendes

Maddie grew up in Woodside, CA and has lived there all her life. She’s loved animals since she was a baby and her family has always owned horses. So her career choice to do something she’s always loved came naturally.

Maddie graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a BS in Animal Science, minoring in Agricultural Education. During her time at Cal Poly, Maddie worked at the Equine Unit, assisting with daily chores, medications, and treatments. She was also the Horse Manager for the university Equestrian Team, overseeing the health, well-being, and TLC of the team’s riding horses.

Maddie grew up trail riding as a child and doing Western Pleasure. She’s now transitioning into ranch horse work, and has discovered a passion for starting young horses. She recently purchased a 2-year-old Quarter Horse named Indiana.

When Maddie is not around horses, she enjoys hanging out with her two cats, friends, and family, and going to the beach.
