Educational Opportunities for High School and College Students

We offer a variety of educational opportunities for undergraduate students (18 and older) who are interested in horses or considering a future career in equine health care.

If you'd like to learn more about opportunities for undergraduate students, please email us and tell us about yourself, your equine experience, your interests and which of our clinics is most convenient to your location.

Visit One of our Clinics

Students can arrange to spend a day at one of our clinics to get a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital and observe in-house appointments, procedures, surgeries and patient treatments. If you'd like to visit one of our clinics, please email us.

Please note that we cannot provide any hands-on opportunities to student visitors.

Volunteer at One of our Clinics

If you have a day or two per week on an ongoing basis, you may want to consider volunteering at one of our clinics. You'll gain first-hand experience observing what goes on at an equine hospital and outpatient clinic and learn about what it takes to run a veterinary practice. To learn more about volunteer opportunities at our clinics, please email us.

Please note that we cannot provide hands-on opportunities to student observers.

Ride Along on Field Calls

Spending a day with one of our mobile veterinarians gives students a valuable glimpse into the world of equine health care. A day in the life of a mobile veterinarian may include routine primary care visits, pre-purchase or lameness exams, treatment follow-ups, emergencies and much more. If you’re interested in a ride-along, please email us.

Summer Employment

Summer employment opportunities may be available for students during our busiest months each year. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have extensive horse handling experience, and be available for a working interview. Please apply early, as these positions fill quickly. If you'd like to apply for summer employment, please email us and tell us about yourself, your equine experience, your interests and which of our clinics is most convenient to your location.
