Veterinary Assistant
Primary Clinic: Menlo Park
Jenna Minkstein was raised in Half Moon Bay, California, in a family that previously had no horse experience. “But,” she says, “they did an amazing job of supporting her love for horses.” She started riding at 9 and bought her first horse when she was 16. She grew up roping and doing lots of ranch work in the saddle, as well as watching and handling horses for several different equine veterinarians from whom, over the years, she gained a great deal of invaluable observational experience.
Jenna spent some time studying Agriculture Business at Colorado State University, but she is truly passionate about the equine veterinary field and hopes to build her knowledge and experience in order to take a more active part in helping the animals she loves feel better. She is interested in pursuing additional training in equine acupuncture or radiology.
Jenna now owns an American Quarter Horse gelding named Kona who, she reports, is a handy “all-rounder.” She also has an Australian Shepherd/Dachshund mix named Remington. When she’s not working, Jenna enjoys hanging out with Kona and Remington, as well as “messing around” in the ocean.
