Alyssa Yeater

Alyssa Yeater is from Salinas. She grew up right in Toro Park, a nearby neighbor to Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic, which is now Steinbeck Peninsula Equine. At age 5, Alyssa attended a week-long horse camp at the Riding Academy in Corral de Tierra, which sparked many years of riding lessons. She competed up to the Modified Level in 3-Day-Eventing, before taking a pause from riding after high school. Killian, the last horse with whom Alyssa competed, was incredibly special to her. Her passion for riding led to Allyssa to owning a few horses — many of whom were treated by Steinbeck. Alyssa always prioritized her horses’ well-being, staying on top of their care with vaccinations, injections, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, and more.

Alyssa attended Santa Catalina School in Monterey and Salinas High School, then earned her Associate’s Degree at Cuesta College. She is currently pursuing an online Bachelor’s Degree in Business through Southern New Hampshire University. However, now that she’s gaining experience as a Veterinary Assistant, she’s very open to the possibility of furthering her education to become a Veterinary Technician. Alyssa has had a lifelong passion for horses and animals in general and truly appreciates the culture and environment Steinbeck has to offer. She enjoys being outdoors and staying active and is excited to contribute to the health and comfort of horses in any way she can while assisting the Steinbeck Peninsula Equine veterinarians.

Alyssa has a terrier who she says “is my absolute everything—he’s adopted and full of personality. I also have a sweet boxer who we adore just as much. When not working, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her dogs — a Terrier who’s full of personality, and a sweet Boxer. She also enjoys cooking and baking, shopping, Country music concerts, staying in touch with kids for whom she used to nanny, and spending time her friends, her family — including her niece and nephew — and her boyfriend.
