Pricilla Brown

DVM

Primary Location: Salinas

Surgery Resident

Pricilla Brown hails from Breckenridge, Texas, a small town about 2 hours west of Dallas, where her family bred and raised Quarter Horses. She began riding at a very young age and did just about everything on horseback that was ranch-related, primarily cutting and roping. Medicine had always intrigued her, and with her horse-focused heritage, a career as an equine veterinarian seemed the perfect fit for Pricilla.

After earning both a BS and an MAg in Animal Science at Texas A&M University, and attending the Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee, Dr. Brown did her Internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY, followed by a Fellowship at Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery in Weatherford, TX.

After completing her Surgery Residency at Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics, Dr. Brown plans to continue a career in private practice, and hopes to someday start a family, have a ranch, and raise a few Thoroughbred racehorses.

Pricilla currently has 5 horses — 3 broodmares and 2 yearling geldings who will be starting training this year. When not working, she enjoys walks with her 10-year-old Golden Retriever, “Sperry” (“the best girl ever!”), hunting, fishing, watching sporting events, and occasionally traveling.
