Mika Fredrickson

Primary Clinic: Salinas

Mika grew up in Redwood City, California, and was a Summer Horse Camp Counselor at Webb Ranch in Portola Valley in 2011 and 2012. She started riding when she was 10-years-old and actively competed in 3-Day-Eventing throughout high school and college. Her first eventing pony, Domino, and her hot-headed chestnut Thoroughbred, Brego are still in the family living a wonderful life of retirement. In addition to horses, Mika has a soft spot for small ruminants, especially goats.

Dr. Fredrickson received her BS in Animal Science and Management at UC Davis, where she worked as a Barn Supervisor at the UC Davis Equestrian Center. During veterinary school, she was awarded a grant to study equine hindlimb hoof biomechanics, and her training included externships at Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics, as well as Alamo Pintado, Loomis Basin and Bend Equine Medical Centers. She received her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences in 2020, completed her internship with Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics, and joined our team as a staff veterinarian in 2021. Dr. Polniaszek’s professional interests include preventative medicine, ambulatory practice, and internal medicine, as well as participating in outreach programs that provide low-cost veterinary services in rural areas.

In her time off, Mika enjoys riding, traveling, being outdoors, playing video games and spending time with family.
