Lauren Corey

Primary Clinic: Menlo Park

Dr. Corey grew up in Hillsborough, California. Her childhood dream was to become a veterinarian. When she wasn’t at home or in school, you could often find her at McIntosh Stables in the Portola Valley Training Center. Amazingly, Dr. Russ Peterson performed the veterinary check on Lauren’s first horse, Piccalo Pete (Petey), in 2009. Lauren competed on the “A” show circuit in the Hunter/Jumpers division, as well as IEA.

Lauren graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BS in Biology and earned her DVM at Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. While at Kansas State, Lauren served as fundraising chair for the class of 2020, president of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and was a student ambassador helping with interview weekends and assisting new students. Lauren also had an opportunity to spend time at the University of Edinburgh School of Veterinary Medicine and experience a little of what veterinarian life is like in Scotland. On a visit to Ireland, Lauren lived on her uncle’s dairy farm and helped out at the local veterinary clinic.

Lauren’s free time is spent riding, skiing and hiking. A little-known fact about Lauren: She was awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Music Teachers Association of California in Piano Level – Advanced, and can play some amazing classical pieces!
