Dr. Allison Hall was born and raised in Petaluma, California. She started riding at the age of 12, primarily English Pleasure on the trails of Point Reyes National Seashore and West Marin, where she was a horseback trail guide with Point Reyes Arabian Adventures. She had to curtail her riding adventures during vet school but looks forward to owning her own horse one day.
Allison graduated with a BS in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, then went on to earn her DVM at Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. She met 2011-2012 SPEC intern alum Dr. Casille Batten who told her about all her wonderful experiences, how much she had learned, and the amazing people with whom she had worked, so Allison put SPEC on her radar. After doing an externship at SPEC in the summer of 2020, she knew it was where she wanted to do her own internship. She is interested in equine general practice and is considering doing the ABVP residency at SPEC. She’s also interested in becoming certified in equine acupuncture and EVMM (equine chiropractic).
Allison has a beautiful, brown tabby cat named Mr. Gibbs who she rescued in Canada when she started vet school and brought him along upon her return to California. When not working, she enjoys fly fishing, hiking the local trails and indulging in a great glass of wine with her fiancé, Mathew Jacobs, who is an assistant winemaker at Seabold Cellars in Marina, California.
