Dr. Yocom is originally from San Francisco and grew up competing on the Hunter/Jumper circuit in Northern California in high school. She attended Cal Poly SLO for undergrad where she studied Animal Science while competing on the IHSA Equestrian Team. Following this, Dr. Yocom attended University of California, Davis for vet school where she was co-president of the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners in addition to working as a nurse in the equine hospital and participating in several equine research projects. Dr. Yocom then completed a year-long internship at The Piedmont Equine Practice, Inc. in The Plains, VA and then completed a second internship with Colorado State University's Equine Field Service. She then returned home to work as an associate here at Peninsula Equine, but as life plans changed, she relocated back to Colorado. After a few years in private practice, she returned to Colorado State University to complete a three-year residency in Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Yocom loves being back in the Bay Area where she can use her years of training and expertise to help the patients of Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics! She follows a whole-horse approach to her cases and enjoys seeing her patients excel whether it be in competition or just being happy at home.

Dr. Yocom enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her dog Rosie and cat Scuba Steve. She is happy to be home with her family in the wonderful state of California!
